When I first stumbled upon this painting at the Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain, I was starstruck. When my eyes locked onto Velázquez's painting, I began to tear up. This depiction of Christ was brutal, haunting, and yet incredibly beautiful. My tears were bittersweet like the painting; that's when I knew that this painting would forever be a part of me.
